Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, or another significant mental health challenge? Do you often find yourself:
Maybe there’s deep-seated trauma in your past that’s negatively impacting your current struggles. Or perhaps you suffer from a mood disorder that’s making it hard for you to show up and be your best self at work and in your relationships. For the first time, maybe you’re thinking of seeing a psychiatrist who can prescribe medication to help you with the daily toll of living with mental health challenges.
On the other hand, you may have already been in treatment before, but perhaps your clinician couldn’t prescribe certain medications or ended up leaving their practice and discontinuing your care. You might be looking for someone who can continue your old treatment regimen and ensure there are no disruptions.
If this is the case, then we encourage you to connect with us. Here at Skypiatrist, we have a team of licensed psychiatrists who would be honored to provide medication management and help you get back on track toward fulfilling your goals. Whether you’re dealing with an anxiety disorder, an eating disorder, or any other psychiatric condition, our specialists are here to help.

A stigma around medication has long pervaded our society, convincing people that relying on prescription drugs is a sign of weakness. Thankfully, this stigma is starting to slowly lose its power. People are increasingly waking up to the fact that medication is not a source of shame or embarrassment, but a source of strength and vitality.
The truth is that mental health disorders like anxiety, depression, and OCD are not the result of individual failures, but simply a matter of brain chemistry, past trauma, and other factors beyond a person’s control. As a result, sometimes medication is simply a necessity, no different than seeking treatment for a broken bone or chronic illness.
After all, we can’t always control what happens to us or how our minds and bodies react to stress. But with the right medication management, we can control our mood, behavior, and outlook on life more effectively. This gives us the strength and vitality needed to tackle life’s challenges, level up in our lives and career, and live with greater confidence in who we are.
Here at Skypiatrist, we like to keep things simple and uncomplicated for our clients. There’s no crazy system to get through and no lengthy intake process when you sign on. We accept most types of insurance and usually have availability within the first week of reaching out. We also go out of our way to personalize our medication management services, ensuring that your treatment plan matches your needs, preferences, and comfort level.
Our team of licensed psychiatrists is happy to help with a wide range of mental health conditions, including:
Additionally, psychoeducation is a huge component of our approach to treatment. We like to help clients understand the rationale behind medications and dispel any harmful or inaccurate myths they’ve heard about how medications work. We also strongly value clients’ autonomy—we’ll never prescribe a medication that you don’t want to take, and we’ll always titrate dosage at a pace that’s comfortable for you.
In the beginning, you and your psychiatrist will meet together for an evaluation to discuss your current symptoms, mental health history, and any other areas of concern. If you decide to pursue medication, you and your psychiatrist will schedule regular follow-up appointments to assess your medicine’s effectiveness, titrate and adjust your dosage as necessary, and address any questions that come up during the treatment process. Your psychiatrist will closely monitor your progress, and you are welcome to message them between appointments if any concerns arise.

In addition to medication management, we have therapists available who can help you manage the emotional and behavioral challenges of living with a mental health disorder. Therapy can provide a great supplement to psychiatric treatment, addressing the deeper issues and unresolved traumas that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Ultimately, we’re not just here to help you get control of your symptoms, but to help you live a more joyful, confident, and empowered life. Medication management is one of many tools our practice uses that can bring you one step closer to this reality.
Talk therapy addresses mental health issues by exploring where negative thoughts come from what lifestyle habits may be causing or exacerbating your symptoms, and how you can more effectively regulate your emotions. Medication management, on the other hand, is about using medications to address symptoms that therapy isn’t able to treat.
Therapy sessions usually take place on a weekly or biweekly basis, while psychiatric sessions are generally more infrequent, although this certainly varies from client to client.
Most psych meds are not addictive and do not cause dependence, so it is highly unlikely that this happens. If you don’t like a certain medication or it’s not effective, the good news is that your psychiatrist can help you taper off.
With some medications, tapering off too quickly can cause withdrawal symptoms, but this is simply a matter of lowering the dose slowly and cautiously. Your psychiatrist will be able to help you taper your prescriptions effectively, ensuring that your medication management plan always stays within your comfort level.
If you’re struggling to manage a psychiatric condition, we’re here to tell you that you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep trying to navigate your challenges alone. To connect with one of our licensed psychiatrists and get started on the path to wellness, you can book an evaluation through our contact page. We look forward to hearing from you!
